Call for Abstracts
This conference will focus on two major categories: one for empirical qualitative research studies that used qualitative research methodology and the other on best practices in qualitative research methodology. The acceptance/rejection letter will be sent within 2 weeks from the day you submit your abstract.
You are invited to submit an abstract for your primary qualitative research (or for a meta-synthesis or meta-narrative) or an abstract of a qualitative research topic. Before submitting your abstract, please prepare a title (10-18 words), a one-paragraph abstract (120-250 words), keywords (5-10), and a bio note for each presenter (25-50 words each). Please remember that we only accept abstracts of qualitative research studies and abstracts about qualitative research methodology. All quantitative and mixed-methods studies are automatically rejected. However, if you did a mixed-methods study, you are encouraged and allowed to present the qualitative findings of that study.
Category 1: Primary Qualitative Research Studies
After the title of your submission, the one-paragraph abstract of a qualitative research study must be 120-250 words and must include the following elements: (a) the background of the study, (b) the problem statement, (c) the purpose statement, (d) the theory/theories behind the study, (e) the qualitative research design, (f) the participants, (g) the research context, (h) the data collection methods, (i) the data analysis, and (j) the major findings of the study (if the study is already completed) or the importance of the findings of the study in the field or in the profession (if the study is still ongoing).
Abstracts of ongoing and complete qualitative research studies in the following fields are welcome:
Artificial intelligence | Arts | Business, accounting, economics, finance, marketing | Education | Health Sciences | Humanities | Languages and Linguistics | Leadership, administration, and management | Religion/Theology | Social Justice | Social Sciences | STEAM | Others
Category 2: Qualitative Research Methodology Presentations
Even if you did not conduct a primary or empirical qualitative research study, you can present on a topic of interest about qualitative research methodology, strategies, and best practices. This type of presentation is meant to equip delegates with qualitative research knowledge, strategies, and tools that can help sharpen their qualitative research understanding and skills. It must be based on existing scholarly publications of qualitative research. If you plan to present on best practices of qualitative research methodology that can help our delegates improve their future qualitative research, consider submitting an abstract under the following strands:
Qualitative research design | Data collection method | Data analysis/interpretation | Trustworthiness | Theory/model development | Empowerment of research participants | Ethics
The one-paragraph abstract of a presentation on qualitative research methodology must be 120-250 words and must state the (a) background of the topic, (b) why it is important in the field of qualitative research, (c) the major sub-topics that will be covered in the presentation, (d) what methodology strand the presentation is related to, and (e) how the presentation contributes to the understanding and best practices of qualitative research methodology.
